EL PASO ,TEXAS – Each year, thousands of people become ill from diseases that could have been prevented by immunizations. Countless more miss time from school or work because they are not immunized as recommended. Of course, the pain, suffering and possible permanent damage to health and wellbeing are included among preventable illness.
That is why the City of El Paso Department of Public Health is celebrating National Immunization Awareness Month throughout August. This year, the joint annual observance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will include a limited supply of the following vaccines on a first-come, first-served basis: Hep A, TWINRIX (Hep A and Hep B), and HPV for adults. Clients will be charged an administrative fee of $10.00 for one vaccine, and $20.00 for two or more.
Please note that beginning September 1, 2012, the cost of adult vaccines will increase to $25.00 per vaccine. The change only applies to adult vaccines, and the cost for children’s immunizations will remain the same. The vaccines will be available at the following health center locations:
Administration/Preventive Medicine – 5115 El Paso Drive, Suite B
Henderson – 721 S. Mesa
Northeast – 5587 Transmountain
Tigua – 7862 San Jose
Ysleta – 110 Candelaria
Westside – 5195 Mace
