CHICAGO – Mayor Rahm Emanuel welcomed former Prime Minister Tony Blair to the City of Chicago today, as Blair came to town for a Zurich Advisory meeting.
The two leaders have worked together since the 1990s, when Blair was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Mayor Emanuel served in President Clinton’s White House. Their continuing relationship allows further collaboration and dialogue between the United Kingdom and Chicago, in business, cultural and social realms.
“I welcome my friend Tony Blair back to Chicago,” said Mayor Emanuel. “Over the years we have formed a strong relationship and he is a great ambassador for the United Kingdom, creating opportunity and development on both sides of the Atlantic.”
