ANKARA (AA) – North Carolina Tar Heels and Kansas will face off in the NCAA Championship Game after winning their games in the Final Four late on Saturday.
North Carolina beat Duke 81-77 while Kansas sealed a 81-65 win over Villanova to reach the final.
Legendary Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski officially ended his 47-year career with 42 seasons at the team after its final four defeat.
“I’ve said my entire career … that I wanted my seasons to end where my team was either crying tears of joy or tears of sorrow, because then you knew that they gave everything. And I had a locker room filled with guys who were crying. And it’s a beautiful sight,” the 75-year-old coach said after the match ended.
The final game of the 2022 NCAA Tournament between No. 1 seed Kansas and No. 8 seed North Carolina will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Monday.
